Orange Community Broadcasters
Mr PHILIP DONATO (Orange)—Mr Speaker, I acknowledge the contribution of FM 107.5 operated by Orange Community Broadcasters Ltd., an independent, volunteer-driven community radio station serving Orange and the wider Central West. With a broadcast footprint reaching communities across Orange, Cumnock, Molong, Cargo, Canowindra and beyond — and streaming available worldwide — FM 107.5 plays an important role in connecting people, promoting local culture, and strengthening community identity. The station provides an exceptionally diverse range of programming, including music of all genres, ethnic and cultural programs, news, local interviews, weather and sport, along with information about community services and events. In doing so, it supports social inclusion by giving voice to groups and individuals who may not otherwise be represented in mainstream media. I particularly acknowledge the volunteers who produce, present, operate, manage and maintain the station. FM 107.5 provides valuable training and hands-on experience in broadcasting, audio production, administration and media, supporting skills development for people of all ages and backgrounds. The station also works closely with local organisations, service clubs, youth groups, and cultural communities to share their stories and promote local activity. I commend Orange Community Broadcasters for their dedication to serving, celebrating and connecting our community.
